Parker Chronicle Font

parker_chronicle

Parker Chronicle is a script font based on the hand of the first scribe of the oldest manuscript of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, MS 173, commonly called the “Parker Chronicle” after Archbishop Matthew Parker (1504–1575), its first modern owner. The scribe whose work this font imitates wrote the chronicle’s annals up to the year 892, during the reign of King Alfred the Great.
