Palatine is an old style solid serif font family, based on Palatino, designed by Hermann Zapf, initially released in 1949 by the Stempel foundry.

Palatine is based on the humanist types of the Italian Renaissance, which mirror the letters formed by a broad nib pen.

Palatine type family comes with Medium and Bold weights and Italic style. It was particularly intended as a design for headings, advertisements and display printing.
