Kirchner is a stylistic font that makes use exclusively of straight lines and triangles. Its choppy and aggressive style is inspired by the expressionism movement, especially by the wooden engravings of said style. Expressionism expressed angst through bold uses of colour and harsh outlines.

Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880-1938) was a German painter and printmaker. He was one of the founders of the artistic collective “Die Brücke” (The Bridge), which revived woodcuts prints as an effort to link the past with the future.

"I designed Kirchner from November 2019 to June 2020. It was an ambitious attempt to embark in this designing journey, especially since I was just starting to dip my toes in graphic design."
