Mnemion is a typeface that aims to investigate the possibilities of the transformation of aesthetic and morphological traits of letters between different historical eras and between scripts. Setting the Ancient years as its starting point, going through the Renaissance and ending up to the 20th century, the result seems quite interesting and, perhaps at times, even (intentionally) provocative. It is freely available in 3 variations: Archaic, Roman and Modern.
Clearly, the ultimate goal of this design is not any kind of revival of an admittedly outdated and stereotypical typographic morphology, but its deconstruction and reintroduction in an experimental and, above all, subversive way.
