Mak is an experimental contrast typeface, inspired by Ukrainian underground music with the modern experimental sound of folk motifs. Lovely Ukrainian music projects as a YUKO, ONUKA, Alina Pash, Dakha Brakha, Khayat like amazing designers do something unbelievable with music using experiments with folk ethno. Such experiments became the basis for the new font. But this basis does not restrict the use of a typeface in the current theme (:
For Cyrillic, usually normal that a lot of signs have limited to a height of lowercase letters it doesn't have ascender height. Therefore the words othen merge into a pile. So the typeface has ascenders for some characters where it will look familiar enough.
The general style of Mak was made from experimental forms of Ukranian historical letters. The peculiarity of it was rounded entry points of lobes into vertical strokes which in Mak has united with rectangular entry points. All this things translate to Latin characters that adopt a unique style that was created.
