The first few characters of Generation Mono were drawn by Hoang Nguyen for the 2019 edition of the annual “Next Generation” campaign of the FHNW Academy of Art and Design in Basel. These initial shapes were expanded to cover the basic Latin alphabet, including all figures and some of the most essential punctuation. Its design is ultra-wide and lends itself to be set vertically, just as it was done in its first application.
